The Origins of Tommy Cono

Hey Folks

Most of you noticed my name changed on Facebook, and soon you'll be seeing my name on show flyers as Tommy Cono. I just wanted to let everybody know that, yes, it's me Tommy C making these changes.

I am still the Voice of Tribute, and you can keep finding me under that for social media and my website. This change is simply just for showbiz.

As my following grows and I continue to book shows out of the area, it is easier to be know as Tommy Cono rather than Tommy C. Tommy C could be anybody! Tommy Callahan, Tommy Cass, Tommy Cannavale...you get the point.

Tommy Cono allows my fans to find me right after a show and allows me to have some more visibility as a performer. While I love my last name Coniglio, it's too long and often misspelled. After discussion back and forth with my manager Joey, we decided Cono was the best fit.

First, it's really just my last name without four letters. Second, and most importantly, it's a tribute to my great-grandfather, as his name was Cono. Back in the day when he immigrated to the US through Ellis Island, his name was changed from Cono to Nicholas.

So this becomes a tribute to my great-grandfathers long lost name and helps me grow in my career, which Nicholas would be so proud to know.

So wonderful to hear about your background and ancestry Tommy and how you honor your family and others in your life too. My Grandparents came over here from Stockholm Sweden when they were only sweet 17. I'm named after my Grandmother Kristine. The United States is made up of wonderful stories of immigration for a better life!
